We've optimized turbocharger protection by monitoring shaft speed and respecting overspinning limits, excessive exhaust backpressure, and unstable pressure ratios. Low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) protection prevents engine damage in high gears. Thermal management actively reduces power to prevent overheating of critical components and reduces power until your oil reaches the proper temperature. Enhanced Driving Experience We didn't stop at raw power-APR's ECU upgrade enhances every aspect of your driving experience. To truly experience the sound of this engine we open the exhaust valves 100% above 3,000 RPM for sound and power delivery. Furthermore we've calibrated a new light exhaust crackle that's similar to previous factory RS3 models. In park we additionally raised the standing rev limiter to 5,500 RPM, open the valves 100% during revving, and added the exhaust crackle. Furthermore, we've added left-foot braking and brake boosting for greater control on and off the track, while the speed limiter removal unleashes your car's full top-speed potential. The Auto Start/Stop memory ensures your preferred setting is always ready, putting you in control every time you start the car. Finally, we've recalibrated the boost, power and torque gauges so you can see the full range present at higher power levels!

For MG1CS163 ECU's, an unlock is required to install performance software. Our software is compatible with a mail-in unlock provided directly by Autotuner as well as our existing ECU swap available through our APR Dealer network. ECU Unlock Solution #1: Order a mail-in ECU unlock from Autotuner and follow the necessary steps to complete your ECU unlock process. Once an unlocked ECU is received, reinstall the unlocked ECU in your vehicle and visit any APR authorized dealer to flash our performance software through the OBD2 Port as usual. ECU Unlock Solution #2: Schedule an appointment with an APR authorized dealer to have your vehicle information scanned, and we will "clone" and ship an unlocked ECU to that APR dealer. The dealer will then install the unlocked ECU, install your APR software, and return your original ECU to us. You'll purchase the tune & $999.95 unlock from the dealer during the install. If your ECU is not sent to us within 15 days, we will charge a $1499.95 core charge. Unlocked ECUs can install any new APR updates, stages, or different options or octanes without requiring another unlock. However, if the ECU is flashed back to stock by the Audi or APR dealer, it will re-lock the ECU and require a new unlock. Use only fuel equal to or higher than specified; never lower. Follow our fuel guide, particularly for race fuel and Ethanol. Dyno results are for reference only and will vary due to vehicle condition, setup, dyno type, environmental factors, and fuel quality. North America uses the Anti-Knock Index (AKI) (RON+MON)/2, while the Rest of the World (ROW) uses RON. Each vehicle's year, make, and model may have multiple engine or transmission controller software part numbers ("box codes") with unique revisions. Manufacturers release updates that alter these codes, which can only be verified by scanning the controller. Some stages, octane levels, or features may not be available for specific box codes. Our website provides a general guide by Year, Make, and Model, but you can request unavailable software.

    You must purchase an ECU unlock to install APR software.


    To unlock your ECU (Autotuner):


    Order mail-in ECU unlock directly from Autotuner

    Follow the necessary steps to complete your ECU unlock process.

    Once unlocked, visit APR dealer to flash our performance software through the OBD2 Port as usual


    To Unlock your ECU (APR):


    Schedule an appointment with an authorized APR Dealer.

    The dealer will scan your vehicle, and we’ll ship them an unlocked ECU.

    The dealer will install the unlocked ECU, install your APR software, and return your original ECU to us.


    Note: You'll purchase the tune & unlock from the dealer during the install. If your ECU is not sent to us within 15 days of receiving an unlocked ECU, we will issue a core charge.
